A weekend workshop in Wellington exploring the art of receiving and giving with the Wheel of Consent®

Are you in Wellington, or Aotearoa, and wish you could have a map to help you navigate your relating better? If you’d like to:

  • Create healthier interactions and relationships
  • Get clearer about what you do and don’t want
  • Communicate your limits and boundaries more easily

…then this workshop is for you!

Learn a life-skill you’ve always wished you had

The Wheel Of Consent offers a simple, powerful model to help you understand the two distinct experiences of giving and the two distinct experiences of receiving.

Practice creating clear agreements so you can experience satisfying connection to self and others, and bring a completely fresh approach to all your relationships.

This is a ‘hands-on’ weekend workshop, in Wellington, exploring how the Wheel Of Consent can help you with relating and relationships. The invitation is to learn through safe, clothed, touch on your own terms – including the choice not to touch.

What’s this workshop about?

  • Making choices – learning how to choose authentically for yourself
  • Meeting your needs – getting what you want without taking advantage
  • Enjoying better boundaries – noticing, valuing, and trusting what’s right for you, and having the courage to speak up for that
  • Building healthier relationships – receiving and giving with clear communication

Clarity about who an interaction is for is at the heart of clear, enjoyable giving and receiving.

Without it there’s a risk of what most of us are actually more used to in our relationships: unfulfilling interactions, blurred boundaries, and even consent violations.

These are all things we feel, so understanding receiving and giving with the Wheel of Consent happens best through experiencing it in your body.

What’s involved in this workshop?

You’ll learn and practice these essential elements of the Wheel:

  • How to experience sensation, and enjoyment, in your own skin in a way that you can access any time you choose
  • The 4 different ways you can experience receiving and giving
  • The essential framework of the Wheel of Consent and its four Quadrants (Taking, Allowing, Serving, and Accepting) as a foundation for connection
  • Becoming aware of your desires and limits, and learning how to make choices about what you do with them
  • Practicing communicating what you do and don’t want, and making agreements about the interactions you have.

There will be a mixture of guided hands-on practice, theory, and chances to share, discuss, and ask questions, so that you can start to use the Wheel Of Consent as an ongoing everyday life-skill.

There are opportunities for exchanging touch as part of the learning, but it is never required.

You are welcome to witness the entire time if you like, and this experience can be just as valuable. The workshop is fully clothed and non-sexual, and it will always be your choice if, where, and how you touch or are touched.
